Who Am I?
I am the writer, creator, food photographer and recipe creator for Simply Sophisticated Cooking. With a crazy love for food, I am one of those people who plans their travel and experiences around food. In fact, I am on a year-long trip traveling in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Morocco, Ireland and the UK, exploring foods in their cultural homeland. The things I have learned, translate into my food and offer a new way of looking at both life and food.
It is the creation, the art, the yummy flavors and the way food brings people together, that creates my interest in food. Tasty food makes people happy and I love happy people.
While I do love food, I also see the need for a healthy food environment. I have a keen interest in making food taste good, but being healthy at the same time. Healthy food does not mean bland, cardboard style food. It means sumptuousness, tasty, umi food, from a healthy point of view.
I started officially writing about food in 2012. Before that, I was sharing recipes and techniques with anyone interested in learning or sharing new recipes and techniques. I have spent over 20 years learning from professional chef friends, the internet, cooking shows and cookbooks. In fact, I’m still learning. I believe the learning process never ends. And now, I want to use that knowledge to “cook” up fantastic content for you.
My professional work and writing experience go beyond food. I grew up on a produce farm, which is where my love for food began. It also produced my love for gardening, which later translated into a 20-year career in landscaping/gardening. When the 2008 recession hit, I switched directions and started my high-end residential cleaning company.
Also in 2008, I began ghostwriting, SEO content writing and went back to school. I now know the ends and outs of cleaning/organizing, understand organic SEO approaches and have a B.S. in IT, with specialization in Web Development. Because of extensive traveling, including the current year of travel, I am also an expert in travel. I am highly skilled in any of these topics, plus self-employment, finance and other topics.
And while I do write with an authoritative voice on these topics, I am capable of researching and writing on almost any subject area. That said, I do specialize in food and wine, cooking, recipes, multi-culture cuisine, healthy eating and travel. I feel that my passion for these topics transfers through and will benefit you highly on increased traffic and reader engagement.
Food and travel trends are becoming closely intertwined, as people seek food experiences while traveling. I will continue to research, develop new ideas and keep up with current or future trends in producing high-quality content for your writing needs.
